Serdang, 19 June 2025 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) had the honour of hosting the 2025 National Level Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition on 19 June 2025 at the Auditorium, Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM. The event was co-hosted by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and ran from 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

This prestigious research communication competition brought together postgraduate students from various public and private higher learning institutions across Malaysia, including:
UPM, USIM, UMT, UMPSA, MMU, UTP, UTHM, UTM, UUM, USM, UIA, UKM, UM, UniSZA, UniMAP, UiTM, UMS, UNITEN, and UPSI.

The competition featured two main categories:
2. Social Sciences Category
2. Science, Engineering and Technology Category

The day began with the preliminary heats in the morning session, where participants were challenged to present their entire research concisely and engagingly within just three minutes, using only one static slide. The aim was to effectively communicate complex research to a non-specialist audience.

From all presentations, only six finalists were selected to advance to the grand finale held in the afternoon, where they competed for the national title and a chance to represent Malaysia at the international level. The 3MT competition not only tested participants’ ability to communicate research effectively, but also served as a platform to cultivate confidence, intellectual clarity, and academic communication skills among postgraduate students.

UPM would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of the 2025 National Level 3MT Competition. Special thanks go to the distinguished panel of judges for their time and expertise, all participants and supporters from each participating university for their commitment and enthusiasm, the honoured VIP guests for gracing the event, and the dedicated organising committees from UPM and USIM for their tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth execution of the competition.
