
Serdang, October 15th, 2025 — The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully organised the Postgraduate Open Day at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre (PKKSSAAS), held in conjunction with the Oath Taking Ceremony for New Postgraduate Students of the First Semester 2025/2026. The programme, which ran from morning until 5:00 p.m., brought together participation from all faculties, institutes, and related offices that hosted exhibition and service booths to provide information and support to new postgraduate students.


The highlight of the programme was the Oath Taking Ceremony for new postgraduate students, officiated by the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, YBhg. Dato’ Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah. The ceremony was attended by more than 700 newly registered postgraduate students representing over 30 countries worldwide.
The symbolic oath recital was led by Mohd Faizul Anuar Mohd Saleh, Yu Pooi Kuen, and Jayryl D. Enano on behalf of the new postgraduate cohort. The pledge signifies the students’ commitment to abide by the university’s rules and regulations throughout their studies. Briefing sessions were also conducted by key departments involved in postgraduate management, including the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) and the Infocomm Development Centre (iDEC), to assist students in adapting to the university’s academic environment.


In his address, the Vice Chancellor emphasised the university’s commitment to producing high-quality postgraduates equipped with strong research capabilities and academic excellence, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the global academic and professional community. The programme concluded at approximately 4:00 p.m. with document verification sessions and visits to the exhibition booths available throughout the Postgraduate Open Day.
