UPM STRENGTHENING TIES WITH USQ, AUSTRALIA

UPM Serdang, 2 June 2016. The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) hosted a dinner to welcome Prof. Janet Verbyla (Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor) and Prof. Talal Yusaf (Executive Director for International and Development) from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia, here, today.

Attending the dinner from UPM were Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris, the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Bujang Kim Huat, the Dean of SGS, and Mr. Saiful Maskan, an assistant registrar at SGS.

During dinner, both sides took the opportunity to share the latest information about their universities, and discussed ways to strengthen the relationship between the two universities. According to Prof. Verbayla, USQ are planning to change the agreement that had been signed by both universities in 2014, from Dual PhD programme to Joint PhD programme. She also informed UPM that students who are enrolled in the UPM USQ Dual PhD are eligible to be considered for the USQ PhD scholarship.
