The programme is one of the programme structures offered by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) under the UPM International Collaborative Programme (UPM-ICP). The programme’s main aim is to promote and strengthen PhD research collaboration between UPM and universities from other countries. Potential candidates must satisfy each university's admission requirements, including language proficiency. A student who is accepted to join the programme will be supervised by at least 2 supervisors, one from each university and will be required to spend part of their study at each university for at least 12 months. An agreement will be made for every student. Upon completion of their programme, the student will be awarded two PhD certificates, one from each university. This programme is open to both inbound and outbound students.
