CEO TALK PROGRAMME FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

Serdang, 20 July 2016. The Putra Sarjana programme, under the purview of the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MTDC), held a CEO Talk Programme for Postgraduate Students here today.  The programme is one in which CEOs of companies are invited by MTDC to share their knowledge and experience as successful entrepreneurs with postgraduate students of the host universities. 

The objectives of the CEO Talk programme are: to foster closer relationships between MTDC and the host universities; to support complementary efforts by the host universities in recognising, rewarding and  grooming students who are high achievers; to offer additional value to the host universities towards encouraging and rewarding innovative, commercial, able and “market led” ideas and products; to reflect MTDC’s role as an enabler for innovative, technology-related ideas and as the key commercialization arm of the government; to increase recognition and familiarity by the university communities on the roles and functions of MTDC in promoting innovation and commercialization of ideas in the country; and to identify or possibly hand-pick exceptionally talented candidates to be groomed as future entrepreneurs in MTDC programmes.

The event featured Mr. Mohamed Hazli Mohamed Hussain, the Group CEO of DagangHalal PLC which is listed on the ISDX Growth Market, London on 7th April 2016. DagangHalal PLC operates a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform for halal verification to trade and promote halal products and services. Among others, the company operates DagangHalal.com that provides certification services for halal suppliers and consumers. It also provides halal trade manager system, a tool that enables the merchants to manage their company’s profile, e-catalogue, buying requests, selling offers, orders, and other contents on a single dashboard, besides enabling B2B business matching with buyers from trade fairs and other halal network partnership channels. The company incorporated in 2015 and is headquartered in Jersey, the United Kingdom.

The event also featured Mr. Noor Shahiwan Ismail, the CEO of SolarGE Sdn. Bhd. Mr. Noor Shahiwan Ismail talked especially on developing high performance application, focusing on the exploitation of renewable resources especially solar and making the effort whenever he can to raise awareness of green technology which does not necessarily require high investment or expensive technology

The CEO Talk Programme was attended by  both local and international postgraduate students. The talk ended with a Q & A session with the students, who were inspired and motivated by the successes and achievements of the CEOs.
