On Monday, March 29, 2021, UPM successfully held the voting session for UPM Student Representative Council (MPP) 2021 election via online using UPM new mobile application, Putra®Voting. The Infocomm Development Center (iDEC) has honored the name of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) where this is the first time voting session for the UPM Student Representative Council (MPP) 2021 election uses the Putra®Voting Mobile application. Many thanks and congratulations to all iDEC staff who have worked hard to develop Putra®Voting. Students can just download and start voting from anywhere by using their smartphones.
There are also Jom Turun Mengundi 2021 Competition to appreciate the efforts of students who went to vote for the Student Representative Council candidates for the 2020/2021 Session. Prizes offered are in the form of Activity Grants for both Faculty and College categories. The following are the prizes:
• First Place: RM5,000
• Second Place: RM3,000
• Third Place: RM2,000
Winners are determined based on the highest percentage of students who went to vote for each category.
There are more than 26,000 UPM students that are eligible to vote including the undergraduate and postgraduate students. There are total of 98 Student Representative Council candidates, where 67 students represent the faculty and 31 students are general candidates. But only 45 of them will be chosen as Student Representative Council. The three main and most popular party in UPM Student Representative Council is Mahasiswa Putra (MP), Nadi Putra (NP) and SMART UPM.
The voting session run smoothly starting from 9 am until 9 pm. The counting of votes and the announcement of the official results was carried on March 30, 2021. The official result can be view at https://www.facebook.com/jpmppupmofficial/posts/235265384633715.
