To mark the opening of 2018, School of Graduate Studies hosted a group of professionals from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta on 10th January 2018. Interested with our International Collaborative Programmes, the group led by Prof. Dr. Bambang Sumarjoko, Director of School of Graduate Studies, UMS visited School of Graduate Studies, UPM to get a better understanding on the programmes. The delegates were greatly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Robiah Yunus, Dean of School of Graduate Studies.
The objective of the visit was to discuss on the International Collaborative Programme for Master and PhD students, joint research and publication, joint supervision and mobility. To further enhance their understanding on the ICP-UPM programmes, Prof. Dr. Robiah introduced the programme background as well as the programme models and the benefits of enrolling in the programmes.
Prof. Dr. Bambang introduced Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (SMS) as a university oriented research-based education system that focuses on the field of science, social and humanities and medicine. UMS was established in 1957 and located in the city of Solo and Sukoharjo, Central Java. Postgradute School of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta was founded in 1997 and to date, it has produced 15 postgraduate programmes; 13 Masters and 2 PhD.
The meeting ended with a mutual understanding from both sides on the objective of the visit.
