1. Putra UPM ID is a database system used to access the UPM online system such as PUTRAVID (Virtual Student ID), student email, hotspot, Student Portal, PutraBLAST and many more. Therefore, please activate your UPM ID as soon as you receive the matric number.

2. PutraVID is the identity for students/ staff at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) that replaces the existing student matric card or staff card (physical card). It contains student/staff information such as Name, Student Matrix No. /Staff No. and QR Code.

STEP 3: REGISTER COURSES
1. i-GIMS, a postgraduate student portal is an information management system where students can log into it for course registration, view academic performance, nomination of Supervisor Committee, deferment of semester, application of scholarship, and more.
To log in Student Portal, go to the URL http://sgsportal.upm.edu.my:8080/sgsportal/ then input the username and password created during the UPM-ID activation.
2. Course Course registration must be done not later than two weeks from the date of registration through Student Portal. Schedules and subjects that are needed to be taken for each semester must be referred to your respective faculty/School/Institute.

STEP 4: PAY CREDIT FEES
Pay the credit fee not later than the third week of the semester to avoid any changes in the student's study status. The receipt of payment should be emailed to bursar.student_pg@upm.edu.my
STEP 5: TRAVEL TO MALAYSIA
New students must enter Malaysia with SEV before the expiration date of the eVAL. Please do NOT enter Malaysia earlier than 7 days before the registration period. Otherwise, it may result in an additional cost for visa and pass processing. You are advised to complete the online registration before travelling.
STEP 6: HEALTH EXAMINATION
All new students are required to do a health examination as soon as possible after completing registration.
Local new students can do it at any clinic or hospital throughout Malaysia by using our health examination form. The health examination report must be submitted to University Health Centre (PKU) for endorsement during the verification of the registration process.
Health examinations for international new students must be carried out in the University Health Centre (PKU) after they arrived in Malaysia. Book an appointment slot for Health Examination by logging in to your Student Portal.
STEP 7: ATTEND CLASSES
A student shall attend not less than 80% of the total hours of the academic activities of the registered course of studies. Students who do not comply with the requirement of 80% of attendance without any reasonable excuse, shall be barred from sitting for the final examination, and the student shall be given zero marks for the final examination of the course of studies.
STEP 8: VERIFY YOUR REGISTRATION
Face to face verification of registration must be done in Admission counter, School of Graduate Studies as soon as possible or before second semester/trimester of your studies. Below are the documents that need to be brought for verification of registration:

Original Certificate of Bachelor or/and Master’s Degree

Note :
Students who completed their previous studies in Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan or China must bring the additional documents along if required to be presented.
Any changes in UPM guidelines due to amendments in policies and regulations of the Government of Malaysia will be updated and informed to all students as and when necessary.
