This field of study encompasses the combination of several disciplines such as medical protozoology, medical helminthology, medical entomology, immunoparasitology, biotechnology of malaria and opportunistic and newly emerging parasites. This course focuses on parasitic agents and the vectors that cause the diseases in human and emphasizes on the pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, epidemiology, treatment and control of infections both in the patient and the community at risk. Students are introduced to a laboratory or field research project, apply relevant research and soft skills in order to enable them to be researchers, administrators or other related careers in the field of medical parasitology.
