CEO TALK PROGRAMME FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS
Serdang, 12 May 2016. The Putra Sarjana programme, under the purview of the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MTDC), held a CEO Talk Programme for Postgraduate Students here today. The programme is one in which CEOs of companies are invited by MTDC to share their knowledge and experience as successful entrepreneurs with postgraduate students of the host universities.
The objectives of the CEO Talk programme are: to foster closer relationships between MTDC and the host universities; to support complementary efforts by the host universities in recognising, rewarding and grooming students who are high achievers; to offer additional value to the host universities towards encouraging and rewarding innovative commercial able and “market led” ideas and products; to reflect MTDC’s role as an enabler for innovative, technology-related ideas and as the key commercialization arm of the government; to increase recognition and familiarity by the university communities on the roles and functions of MTDC in promoting innovation and commercialization of ideas in the country; and to identify or possibly hand-pick exceptionally talented candidates to be groomed as future entrepreneurs in MTDC programmes.
The event featured Mr. Fareez Fahmi, the CEO and founder of Novapave Technology Sdn. Bhd. One of the biggest successes of Novapave Technology is that it has commercialised a road pavement additive, now patented in Malaysia and the US. The company has raised RM1.5 million through this product, and prominent clients include Plus Expressway, and the Propel & Sunway Group. Mr Fahmi is also the Director of Business Development-Premium Business Group, which deals with electronic products trading and distribution, and web application development.
The event also featured Mr. Ir. Aziz Ismail, the CEO of Authentic Venture Sdn. Bhd. and founder of TechnopreneurAsia. Mr. Ir. Aziz talked especially on how TechnopreneurAsia assists technopreneurs in collaborating with each other, in order to expand their business into other countries in the region.
The CEO Talk Programme was attended by both local and international postgraduate students. The talk ended with a Q & A session with the students, who were inspired and motivated by the successes and achievements of the CEOs.Tarikh Input: | Kemaskini: | amir_peli
