Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has participated in the Yes2Malaysia Education Virtual Expo 2020 organized by REXPO which was held from 29 to 30 August 2020.

Despite the ongoing global pandemic, UPM is determined to provide Bruneian, Myanmar and Indonesian students with a virtual pathway to the country’s top-ranking universities from the comfort of their homes. The most positive outcome was that UPM managed to collect “on-spot” applications during as well as immediately after the event.

The top three courses rated by students from Brunei, Myanmar and Indonesia offered by UPM are in engineering, health sciences and information technology.

The virtual expo features more than 40 exhibitors representing over 23 colleges, universities and other institutions. Visitors are able to obtain various information on financing and scholarships, as well as the opportunity to attend a series of talks by representatives of universities.

UPM booth was visited by approximately 100 visitors with the majority of school leavers, parents, teachers, university students, working adults, members of the industry and the general public seeking higher education opportunities.

Virtual education fairs make it more accessible for UPM to connect with prospective students no matter how far they are.
